Agriculture, Energy and Environment

Last updated on Monday 21 December 2020

Our Agriculture, Energy and Environment domain covers statistics on topics including food and farming; the natural environment; climate change; environmental quality; energy sources, production and consumption; energy prices; and fuel poverty.

Our priority for 2020/21 is climate change statisticsThe demand for information about climate change and climate change action is increasing. Statistics should support understanding of the drivers and impacts of climate change and provide a robust evidence base for making policy decisions and monitoring progress on mitigating and adapting to climate change.

This year, we will review the public value of UK climate change statistics, with a focus on insight, coherence and how they are used in the public debate. We will also assess the trustworthiness, quality and value of statistics on flood defence spending and natural capital.

We will continue to monitor the effects of COVID-19 on agriculture, energy and the environment in the UK, and support producers in publishing relevant statistics and data that generate insight on the impact of the pandemic.

Contact our regulators for this domain David Ross and Gemma Keane for more information.
