In January, we published a blog that outlined the key themes for our work this year. Our Director General for Regulation, Ed Humpherson, spoke about his expectation that statistics will continue to be in the public eye – at the forefront, the pandemic and the EU exit are likely to affect different aspects of our lives for years to come.
At OSR, the work we do in regulating statistics is guided by the Code of Practice; we want statistics to meet the standards set out in the Code and the Code pillars; trustworthiness, quality and value. Our vision is simple: Statistics should serve the public good.
How you can help us achieve our vision
We want to hear about what is important to you. Where do you want us to focus our attention?
We don’t have a specific deadline for when we’d like to gather views by as this will be an ongoing consultation and we encourage you to approach us at any time whenever you would like us to consider a topic for our work programme.
We want to make sure that statistics and data answer the important questions in your lives, at the right time and in the right way to be valuable to you.
Our work programme is flexible and allows us to be agile and re-prioritise work as needed. We publish an update every four to six weeks with a rolling six-month horizon.
