Dear Pippa,

Cancellation of Accreditation: The Compare School and College Performance (CSCP) service and its replacement

Thank you for your letter of 12 October informing us that the Department for Education’s CSCP service is being replaced with the Finding and Compare School and College Profiles (FCSCP) service.

As you explain, accredited official statistics on school and college performance in England are now published separately through the Explore Education Statistics platform rather than the CSCP service. I therefore agree to your request to cancel the accredited official statistics status of the performance data that are published on the CSCP.

We will remove the following entries from the list of accredited official statistics:

  • Primary school performance tables
  • Secondary school performance data in England
  • 16 to 18 school and college performance data in England

I welcome that the school and college performance statistics are published separately from the accountability measures, which are available through the CSCP. This distinction provides greater clarity for users and strengthens the impartiality and independence of official statistics.

Yours sincerely,

Ed Humpherson
