Referral to treatment (RTT) waiting time statistics for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
Thank you for your letter updating us on the actions you have taken to restore reporting of referral to treatment (RTT) waiting list statistics following issues with data from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).
Following the external investigation carried out during December, we note your plans to publish revised figures on 13 January 2026, accompanied by a short statistical report. Please ensure that you include details in this report of the original issue with the data, steps that have been taken to resolve these issues, actions in place to avoid repeat occurrences in the future, and to what extent you are reassured that the issue does not impact other health boards.
We also encourage you to continue to monitor the data closely going forwards, to ensure that the assurances provided by the health board are adhered to.
We commend the timely way with which you have dealt with this matter and the transparency you have demonstrated throughout this process. As previously mentioned, my team will continue to engage with you and your team on the planned compliance review of the NHS activity and performance summary statistics during the course of this year.
