Alternative release time for CPIH-consistent inflation rate estimates for UK household groups

Thank you for your letter of 17 August 2022 requesting an alternative release time for ONS’s CPIH-consistent inflation rate estimates for UK household groups. 

Releasing these estimates with the main Consumer price inflation release at 7:00am will enable coherence between publications, increasing public understanding and providing greater clarity and insight on the impact of cost of living and inflation on households. I am content to grant an alternative release time of 7:00am for future releases. 

Please ensure that the time of release is made public and that the reasons for the alternative release time are clearly outlined.
