Request for assessment of Waiting Times Statistics in Scotland

Thank you for your letter of 31 January requesting a series of compliance checks and an assessment of Public Health Scotland’s waiting times statistics.

As you have confirmed, hospital waiting times are of high public interest across the UK. I therefore welcome your endeavours to publicly demonstrate the compliance of these statistics with the Code of Practice for Statistics. I am pleased to confirm that my team will shortly begin this assessment.
