Vaccination status of COVID-19 patients in critical care beds in Wales 

As you are already aware, we have been looking into the use of unpublished data quoted by the First Minister in a press conference on 7 January 2022. In this press conference the First Minister said: “There are now around 40 people so ill in hospital that they have to receive critical care, and the majority of those people are people who have not been vaccinated”.

Thank you for liaising with us to confirm that you have now published an ad hoc release containing data on the Vaccination status of COVID-19 patients in critical care beds, in Wales as at 6 January 2022.

Whilst on this occasion it has been corrected, I would like to re-iterate the importance of ensuring that wherever possible, figures referred to publicly are made available at the time they are quoted.
