Thank you to everyone who has contributed their views and comments on the Code Stocktake exposure draft report since it was published in December 2016. We really appreciate the wide ranging and insightful nature of the feedback provided. Many of you also took part in our Code review focus groups at the start of the 2017, which were really great opportunities for us to hear about your ideas more fully. The slides we presented at the focus groups are available here.
Your views and opinions have helped to shape the drafting of a refreshed ‘Code of Practice for Statistics’, and we are very pleased to announce that we will be launching a public consultation on the refreshed Code, starting on 5 July 2017, and running until 5 October 2017.
We will be running seminars in various part of the UK during the consultation period, to explain our ideas about the refreshed Code and to encourage your feedback. If you would like to arrange a session – a presentation by us followed by an opportunity for a Q&A session, or if you have any other questions about the consultation, please do email the Code of Practice Programme team at regulation@statistics.gov.uk.
Further details about the consultation will be posted on this webpage and will be accessible via the UK Statistics Authority website over the next few weeks.
We have recently undertaken a review of the Code of Practice and are currently consulting on a draft refreshed Code of Practice for Statistics, Edition 2.0. For further detail please visit our consultation page.
