In March 2021, OSR carried out a review of the COVID-19 Infection Survey (CIS) produced by ONS during the height of the pandemic. The Government recently launched its COVID-19 Response: Living with COVID-19 strategy with plans to scale the survey back. As a result, we are currently reviewing whether and to what extent the CIS statistics continue to serve the public good and meet the standards of the Code of Practice for Statistics.
The Code of Practice is a regulatory framework based on the trustworthiness, quality and value of statistics. It places a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of users. Capturing the views of users, and potential users, forms an important part of our judgment about the statistics. If you are a user, have been a user or are a potential user of these statistics, we would very much welcome your feedback on these statistics via this questionnaire.
We will use the information to inform our analysis of how the CIS has changed over time and how it meets users’ requirements. Please note that we will share these insights with the ONS so they can use the information for further improvements.
If you would like to provide additional information about these statistics or speak to us about them please get in touch with one of our statistics regulators – Nisha Bunting, Anna Price or Jo Mulligan
