Dear Sandra,

Transparency of data related to the Levelling Up Fund (LUF)

Thank you for your letter on 4 November 2021 about the transparency of data related to the LUF highlighting that you have now published the ‘Levelling Up Fund prioritisation of places model’, available via the Levelling Up Fund: additional documents page.

The methodology note updated on 11 June includes information on why sources were chosen. The model now published supports this by including links to the data sources, along with the data itself and details of data used where there were missing values.

To maintain public confidence it is important that data are shared in a way that promotes transparency and clarity. This includes being transparent about the decisions and data which inform the model. I know you support these principles and I am grateful to you for your continued efforts to encourage transparency within your department.

Yours sincerely,

Ed Humpherson
