Strengthening our capability as a regulator
Our maturity as a regulator is at the heart of determining our success. To deliver the outcomes and impact we want to have we must be ambitious and continuously improve our capability – of our people; our processes and systems; our strategic approach; and our intelligence. We have identified priority activities for 2022/23 that will build our capability in ways that directly impact our confidence and ability to deliver our business plans. We will:
- Prioritise making our opinions and judgements transparent and easy to find and improve the public’s access to OSR. Activities will include:
- Visible web statements
- User engagement – applying our learning 2021/22 review
- Develop our people to have the confidence and skills to drive improvement autonomously. Activities will focus on:
- Line managers’ capability
- Casework capability
- Induction training
- Focus on embedding a culture and infrastructure for gathering and sharing insight. Activities will include:
- OSR Theory of Change and Public Good
- Insight Project: Casework Impact
- Insight Project: How regulators have impact (people and culture)
- Building our systems and evidence base for Insight and Evaluation
