Transport, Environment and Climate Change
Our Transport, Environment and Climate Change (TECC) domain covers statistics on transport and transport infrastructure; food and farming; the natural environment; energy sources, production, consumption and prices; fuel poverty; and climate change.
Data and statistics on these topics continue to be so important in developing and evaluating policy decisions and informing citizens, researchers, and decision makers on key areas affecting the UK today.
In previous years, we completed regulatory reviews of some key biodiversity indicators including our assessment of Defra’sButterfly statistics and our compliance check of Defra’s Wild bird statistics. We have also reviewed the Department for Transport’s Report road casualties statistics and intervened on issues raised with us including on Improving transparency of Welsh Governments’ 20-mph speed limit data.
We continue to seek improvements to the trustworthiness, quality and value of TECC statistics through both our formal regulatory work and our ongoing engagement with producers of TECC statistics from across the UK.
Our future priorities are informed by the users of statistics. If you would like to share your views about data and statistics on transport, environment or climate change, we would be very happy to hear from you.
